We are sad to announce that Manuel “Coco” Rey Cordeiro passed away on Sunday, June 2, as result of a mid-air collision involving two aircraft during an international airshow. 

 

Coco was the Team lead solo and was one of the most experienced Yak 52 pilots in the world with more than 20 years flying experience on this type of aircraft. His professionalism, expertise and love of flying made him a valuable member of the Yakstars.

 

A true gentleman and a good friend, he was part of the family, a brother. His loss is devastating and will be felt throughout the European aviation community.
